My Bucket List – Live To See Cancer Cured

A cure for cancer is something that I pray for every day.

Like too many people, I have had loved ones diagnosed with cancer, and unfortunately lost loved ones, during their battle.

For me the past year and a half I have been helping my aunty on her journey to beat cancer. It has been extremely tough at times. I really couldn’t tell you how many tests she has had, how many doctors appointments we have attended, and how many times we have questioned why us.

So today on Daffodil Day, lets raise as much money and awareness as we can, and get that little bit closer to finding a cure for cancer.

The day I can put ACHIEVED on this  status will be the most wonderful day.

My Bucket List – Write My Own Book

One of my dreams is to write a book.

I have many ideas of what I want to write about, and cover in my book. Only now it seems to be becoming books, (as in more than one, as I cannot pick just one topic to write about).

The main book I want to write would be about my journey to becoming a parent,  (which unfortunately hasn’t happened as yet).

Where do I start? That is my issue.

I am confident one day I will just wake up and the words will come to me, until then I will keep my dream alive by making notes and believing that one day my dream will come true, and maybe my book will even have a happy ending….

My New Adventure – Sewing

You may remember, my post about Learning to Sew.

Since I decided I was going to buy myself a sewing machine I have been busy looking on Pinterest for simple things that I would love to try.

I thought I would share my findings with you.

I will be sharing my adventures with you, and please feel free to share any with me.

My Bucket List – Become a Foster Carer

I am very proud to announce that I am a Foster Carer.

Becoming a Foster Carer is something that I have always felt passionate about.

It breaks my heart to think that there are children in this world that don’t have a safe place to call home.

I have only been a Foster Carer for about six months, (however before that there was many processes, training and of course paperwork).

To date we have had four children in our care, two for respite (which was 4 nights), and two for a short term stay (which was 5 months).

I can honestly say it might not be the easiest thing I have ever done, but it is by far the most rewarding.

When a child in your care smiles, opens up to you and says they love you, your heart just melts.

One thing I always think about with a child I am caring for is….

My Bucket List – Research My Family Tree

In Progress….

Researching My Family Tree is one of my favourite hobbies.

To date I have about 1600 people in my tree.

I am completely fascinated by what I have found, and I can very quickly become addicted for hours once I start looking.

I love reading stories about the people in my family.

There has been much achievement and much tragedy.

I love the feeling of being surrounded by all these people who have lived in different times, had so many different experiences and are some how connected to me and my loved ones.

I have also realised from family members that I know or have known, but also from stories I have researched, that I come from a long line of very strong women.

Through all that I know and have found out I am very proud of where I came from.

My Bucket List – Get Married

I am pleased to announce that I can tick this off My Bucket List.

On the 4th of October 2008,  I got married.

It was a day that I will remember forever.

It was perfect.

Here is a couple of my favourite photos of my most special day.

Thought I would also include the song for our first dance as Husband & Wife.

The song was Night of My Life, by Damien Leith.

My Bucket List – Learn to Sew

My goal to learn to sew will soon be a reality.

The first step was to buy my own sewing machine.  So after a bit of research and some great advice, I have chosen a sewing machine to be mine.

This is the machine that I have chosen, (and it’s got pink on it).

I am very excited to be starting one of my goals.

I  look forward to sharing my sewing adventures with you.
